Alert Description: Bicentennial Campground (K) is open and now managed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife in the Appalachian Hills Wildlife Area. It is located on the BT and is just north of Belle Valley Pt 31 or Stockport Pt 1. No permit is required.
In addition, Wood Grove Campground (H) has now been closed permanently.

Sinking Sping Trail Alert

Alert Description: Andrew Bashaw, BTA Executive Director, has issued this alert for the Sinking Spring Section between Points 6 and 7.
Please exercise caution when hiking this area due to aggressive dogs on Shoemaker Road before reaching Western Local School District.

Pemberville Trail Alert

Alert Description: The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission completed their work in the Pemberville Section between Points 18 and 19 that affects the North Coast Inland Trail(NCIT) and the BT. The Commission removed its mainline bridge over the NCIT at milepost 83.3 on I 80/I 90, in Sandusky County. As a result of the bridge construction project, about a one‐quarter mile stretch of the NCIT that runs under the Ohio Turnpike near Waggoner Road in Washington Township closed May 2024, for relocation.
A new east‐west section of the trail will be built adjacent to the Ohio Turnpike to Waggoner Road. The new trail will continue south along Waggoner Road under the Ohio Turnpike and will reconnect back to the original trail on the south side of the Ohio Turnpike. All trail related work is expected to be completed in 2025.
Trail Detour: The detour for the trail began earlier this year at the start of the bridge construction. Hikers and bike riders can follow the posted detour signs that will take you from Point 18 (CW) turning S on Schultz‐Portage Road 1.0 mi to Behring Road, E on Behring Rd. 1.0 mi, and then N on Waggoner Rd 125ft to the NCIT. Turn SE and continue on the trail to the Village of Lindsey.
Estimated Duration of Trail Alert: Work is expected to be completed in 2025.

Medina Trail Alert

Alert Description: The Medina County Courthouse on the east side of the square in the center of Medina City, is undergoing exterior construction which blocks the sidewalk and the BT that passes along the front of the courthouse. The detour described below is short:
Trail Detour: Towards end of Pt 12, after reaching Court St on the NW corner of Medina Square, continue 1 block E along Liberty, to Broadway. Do not cross Broadway, but instead cross Liberty to the S. After 1 block, first cross Washington going S and immediately cross Broadway to the E. Rejoin the BT as it follows Broadway S to reach Champion Creek Trail at Pt 13.
